Splish Splash

Can I just say how much I love living close to my utah sisters?! They make the stay-at-home mom gig so much more fun! And it makes me so happy that Emmett gets to be around his cousins fairly often. It'll be so fun when Emmett and Ellis are at an age where they can go off and play together. They are going to be the best of buds!

Last week Shi, Britt, Scarlett, and Ellis came over for a pool day. Shilo and Kody had just purchased the same camera that Jase and I have {seriously recommend it}, so she brought it along to test it out and snap some pics. We had so much fun splishin' and slashin' the summer morning away!

I LOVE THESE KIDDOS.

We went back to my house afterwards for some lunch. Shi had to leave shortly after for work {she has kind of a funky work schedule, but it allows us to get together in the mornings or for lunch during the week.} The rest of us spent some time playing outside, eating otterpops, relaxing in the AC, and chit chatting. Scarlett started to get in a mood right before they were about to head out, so I promised her a gift if she would be happy for her mom the rest of the day. Her tantrum attitude quickly turned into an excited one. I went upstairs, pulled out my shoe box of elementary-high school jewelry I still had, and gave her some bracelets and a necklace. That girl was THRILLED. Britt told me later that Scarlett had such a fun time and that she was so excited to show her tball friends her new bracelets! I call that an aunt win ;)

Also, I can't resist sharing these photos Britta took of my chunky babe. THOSE LEGS!!! I am so obsessed with him.

Father's Day

We've got a first time daddy over here! Which means Emmett and I got to celebrate, spoil, and love on Jason all day this Father's day. It also happened to be Cortlen's birthday, so Tierra and I decided to let the boys sleep in so they could wake up to a pancake, sausage, bacon, and orange juice breakfast. Mmm. Tierra and Cortlen headed out after breakfast, so the rest of the day was spent relaxing and enjoying my little fam. I love them so, so much.

We love and appreciate you Jase. More than you know!

Payson Lakes

Another nap, another post! Last weekend we had ourselves a little BBQ at Payson Lakes. Tierra and Cortlen were visiting from Idaho, so I decided it'd be fun to do something out of the house. The lake sounded like a pretty good idea. We extended an invite to Shi and Kody and I'm so glad they could come! The weather forecast was nice and warm, so we figured it'd be fun to BBQ and go swimming. When we got there, however, it was super cloudy and quite breezy, sooo we didn't end up getting in the cold water haha. We still had a fun time chatting, eating, and posing with a pretty scenery.

Side note: I am fully aware that I am that person that takes waaaay too many pictures. But if I'm being honest, that's why I have this blog. I like looking back and remembering all of the details. I also like taking pretty pictures of the people I love. So with that being said, here's a picture recap of our day.

^^ Notice the clouds lol

Little man was tuckered out by the end. Emmett loved hanging with his aunts and uncles, but I'm sure he'll enjoy it even more once he gets some cousins out of these peeps ;) After the lake, Shi and Kody headed downtown for a play and the rest of us drove to Kaysville to have dinner at Jason's moms. Jason and Tierra's grandparents were in town and they wanted to meet their great grandson! Once we finished up with dinner and some card games, Jason / Tierra / Cortlen / Emmett / myself finished off the night with some coldstone to celebrate Cort's birthday! It was YUMMMMY. Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter and reeses mixed in has got to be my new favorite. {I've been on this peanut butter craze lately haha.} Such a fun day!
