9 Months

Our Emmett baby has officially been out longer than he was in! Weird. So much has gone on with our boy this month. He said goodbye to the only home he's ever known... and probably the only home he'll never remember :,) He is currently living the life at gigi and grandpa's house in Colorado. Besides his sleep schedule, he's adjusted to the change nicely. His new favorite hobby is following the pups around - whether they like it or not haha. Emmett learned how to clap his hands and it clap is clap my clap favorite clap thing clap ever. He also makes this high-pitched squeal when he gets really excited. He sounds like a baby pterodactyl and I love it. Emmett is a speed machine! He can scale the furniture and crawl around so fast. He has no interest in taking steps with his walker or if his hands are being held. Emmett started using his pointer finger, decided to take up thumb sucking, discovered toilet knobs are fun to play with, and loves calling for his "momomomom". Mama/mom are currently the only words in his vocabulary. He gets the biggest grin when I pull out the camera and start taking pictures of him EXCEPT when it's time for his monthly photo shoot hahaha. Peek-a-boo is his favorite game and he's still a 'little baby bum' fanatic. He's learned that if he crawls to mom's feet he'll get picked up. He had his first little tumble down some stairs, but still can't seem to resist climbing them whenever he gets the chance. He's a tough little guy and doesn't cry for too long after getting hurt. He must get that from his daddy ;)

Seriously could not love him more.

And because I simply can't resist, here are a couple more pictures of this sweet face.

Thanksgiving

I am thankful.

I'm thankful for a hard working husband who loves to cuddle. I'm thankful for our healthy baby boy. I'm thankful for loving parents who raised me right. I'm thankful for siblings that double as my best friends. I'm thankful for my Savior, The Book of Mormon, and for a living prophet to counsel and guide me. I'm thankful for freedom, yummy food, sleeping in, comfy beds, a functioning body, cars, running water, medicine, agency, warmth, hair, friends, technology, candles, amazon prime, lazy days, money in the bank, sunshine, electricity, weekends, a charged phone, water bottles, date night, music, wifi, grocery stores, sight ... the list is literally endless. It's nice having a day set aside each year to reflect on those things we likely take for granted every day. Oh, and for those of you reading this, I'm also thankful for YOU.

This thanksgiving was a good one. It was a little bit smaller than past thanksgiving gatherings, but still just as festive and yummy! The table was set for four {mom, dad, Mauri, and me w/ Emmett at the high chair} rather than the usual 10+. Even though it was just our little party of four and a half, we had enough food for probably twenty people haha. We were eating leftovers for days! Not complaining 'bout it. Jason spent the holiday in Alabama with his brothers and their families, so Emmett and I were missing our daddy lots. Thank goodness for video chat!

I love him. I love him. I love him.

GET IN MY BELLY.

I know I've said it before, and I'll say it again and again, but my mom is AHH-MAZING. She made the entire Thanksgiving feast and three pies. Yummiest food ever people! She's the best.

This was Emmett's first taste of lime and his first Thanksgiving meal outside of mama's belly. {See here for a throwback.} He seemed to be a fan of both. I can't get enough of this boy and his cute expressions!

Taylor, Lynnea, and Evie joined us later that evening for dessert, games, and a stroll around downtown Castle Rock to see the lights. I love that Emmett and I get to see them fairly often while we're here in Colorado. Evie is the sweetest cousin to Emmett! She's constantly hugging and kissing and waving at him. It melts my heart every time.

It was a great day. Also, I love these turkeys. Happy Thanksgiving!
