T H I R T Y

I remember thinking thirty was so old when I was younger. Yet here I am at thirty feeling like I'm still eighteen. Besides becoming a wife and a mom, I feel like not much has changed?? I still have the same personality, listen to all the same music, dress in the same type of clothes, and hang with the same group of friends. It makes me wonder how I'll feel when I'm actually old haha.

My 30th birthday was a gooood one. We managed to get away kid-free for a sibling date night and it was perfect. I'm hoping it's something that can happen more in the future as our kids get a little older *cough* easier. We ate a yummy dinner at Sol Agave, played pickleball at the park, then headed back to Britta's house for pictures, raspberry bundt cake and games. My kind of evening!

These people made me feel so special. I love my family!

Karlie stopped by with the sweetest gift basket. SHE'S TOO NICE.
I'm so lucky that I have my sister-in-law as a best friend!

Funny story about these flowers. I was out chatting with my neighbor Sierra one day and I mentioned to her that my birthday was coming up at the end of the month *me not realizing what month it was*. On August 29th she knocked on my door, yelled "Happy Birthday!!!" and handed me these. I felt so dumb telling her my birthday wasn't for another month hahaha. She was so sweet and told me we're celebrating early then! I lucked out with my neighbors.

We wrapped up the birthday festivities with a golden bachelor/september birthdays/girls night.

Love these people.

See ya twenties! Bring on the THIRTIES.

Emmett Turns FIVE

I HAVE A FIVE YEAR OLD. That went way too fast. Emmett starts kindergarten this month (yup still about five months behind on here) and I'm just not ready for it! Emmett requested a party at the trampoline park for his fifth birthday, so that's exactly what we did. We went on a weekday in hopes it wouldn't be too busy and turns out that's the way to do it. It felt as if we rented out the entire place! We let the kids play, ordered pizza, ate cupcakes, opened gifts, and called it good. Everyone had a blast and I didn't need to deep clean or decorate my house. Calling that a WIN.

Love. This. Boy.

Shoutout to Gigi for making the yummiest cupcakes!

Emmett loooves books. Both Gigi and Britta got him encyclopedia books about animals and sea creatures and he has looked at them basically everyday since. He falls asleep reading them in bed at night and it's my favorite thing ever.

^^ The struggle to get a group picture is real. Love this crew!

It was such a fun party!!

We spent Emmett's birthday doing all of his favorite things.

Ate chocolate donuts for breakfast.

Drew alllll the creatures from his new books.

Partied with his preschool buddies.

Went to the dinosaur museum.

Picked a toy from the gift shop using his dog sitting money from gigi.

It was a perfect day doing all things Emmett! A few things I want to remember about my sweet five year old. This boy is SMART. He has a memory I could only dream of having. It wouldn't surprise me if it's photographic because he remembers the smallest of details - like a page number in his book or how to spell axolotl and komodo dragon. He knows basically every creature to ever exist and can tell you allll about them. He asks so many questions. The most common being, "How many more minutes?" or "How many mornings until.." He is a homebody. He can sit at the table and draw for hours and hours everyday. His favorite shows to watch are size comparison videos on youtube. Godzilla is his fav. He is friendly, creative, imaginative, cuddly, sweet, loud, loving, expressive, aaand still the pickiest eater ever haha.

WE LOVE OUR EMMETT JAMES.
