Oh Boy!

The news is out!!! Hailey is pregnant with Emmett's bestie! Yayayayay! She had the gender ultrasound on Wednesday and... it's a BOY! Her and Matt came over to our house after the appointment to take announcement pictures and for some celebratory pizza. I don't know if you can tell, but I am so so so happy for them! Growing up Hailey and I always talked about how our babies were going to be friends and now we're at that point in our lives where it's actually happening :,) I could cry happy tears! Anyways, I couldn't help but share a couple of the photos I took of this cute family of three.

Already so in love with this little man!! Bring on the boys!

Chey + Richard

Okay. I want to be real for a second before I jump into this post. Yesterday takes the cake for hardest 'mom' day for me. I cried four... maybe five times? To be honest I lost count. Emmett had his first bad topple. I woke up to a thump and a scream. The sound made my mama heart sink all the way to my toes. I called Jason, he called the pediatrician {cause I was a mess}, and for the rest of the day I held my baby close and didn't step away from him for even one second. I quite literally felt like the world's most terrible mom and it was crippling me. We took Emmett to get checked today and guess what! He's fine. Perfect actually. Our pediatrician told me not to blame myself or beat myself up because kids fall, they get hurt, and we can't protect them all the time. He reassured me that I was doing a great job and that I'm an amazing mom. I really, really needed to hear that. Motherhood is hard. By far the hardest thing I've ever done. It's tiring, demanding, stressful, difficult, busy, lonely, draining, messy, selfless, tearful, and wonderful. And I guess I just want to pass along the encouragement. So to all you moms - You are strong. You are amazing. You are doing a great job. Rant over.

Now to get to what this post is really about.. Cheyenne and Richard's wedding! They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake temple on August 17th.

^^ Totally stole these pictures from facebook haha. Such a gorgeous couple!

They held a ring ceremony and reception in Bountiful later that evening which we attended. Emmett and I met up with the family beforehand to eat lunch and hangout for a couple hours in the most gorgeous condo downtown. My parents were staying there for their short visit and it was quite a fun spot to all get together! On our way to the ceremony, we swung by my Goldsberry grandparents house for a quick feeding and outfit change, then we all rode over together.

This great grandma LOVES her Emmett boy.

It was a night full of family, friends, yummy tacos, snow cones, a sleepy baby, Todd's crazy dancing, and lots of love.

Congrats to the happy couple!!!

A Weekend to Remember

It's late... really late... but I'm wide awake in a silent house with sleepy boys. So really, is there a better time to blog? And will this post get written if I don't do it now? Probably not haha. This weekend has been a good one. I'm actually a little bit sad that it's over! We are definitely home bodies over here, so it's not too often that we have multiple things to look forward to in one weekend.

I ditched the boys Friday night to go to Cheyenne's bachelorette party! I love Cheyenne like a sister. She basically was one when we were growing up. Her and Richard are getting married next week and I am sooo excited for them! The party was such a fun girls night with some of my absolute favorite women - my sisters, my best friends, and girls I've known since we were tiny! We played games, ate too much food, reminisced on old times, told the most embarrassing stories, smashed a pinata, opened gifts, laughed a lot, and talked each others ears off. I didn't want the night to end! Who knows how many more times we'll get to all be together like this. I appreciate Jason and Garet for watching my sad, little Emmett that evening. I told them I owe them a bro date haha.

Saturday was also so much fun. Emmett and I slept in until 11 while Jason went to the gym. Afterwards the three of us went on a Kneader's date for lunch. There's not much I love more than dates with my boys! We even got our meal for free thanks to local fluence, hollaaaa.

Emmett got a taste of his first pickle. He was a little unsure about it haha.

We relaxed for hours when we got home, and Emmett let us! It's not too often that happens. He was either tired or just wanted to bounce while watching his show. Grandma Debi came over that evening to babysit Emmett while Jason and I went out on another date. I love that I got some one-on-one time with my man. We went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game. C.R. England, the company Jason works for, was hosting an event there so we got a free meal AND free tickets into the game. I'm loving these free dates! It was a fun time and it was nice meeting some of the people Jason works with on a daily basis.

^^ Jase sporting our free sunglasses.

I'm not sure who won the game. We left a little early to beat traffic, and at that point it was tied 1-1. Even though neither of us are big soccer fans, we were quite amazed with the talent, accuracy, and endurance these players had. It's a fun sport to watch! We came home to a happy grandma snuggling a sleepy baby. Seriously my dream Saturday!

That leads me to today.. well yesterday! It's now really, really early haha. Anyways we decided to have ourselves a little Sunday family night at the high school track. We strolled, jogged, and I attempted to sprint buuuut came to realize that I've lost a lot of my track running mojo. I'm trying to get into the habit of working out everyday, so I'm hoping I can bounce back a tiny bit.

Love my people.

Also I want to quickly note that Emmett started solids this past week! Couldn't pass up sharing these cute photos of his first sit down meal. I can't believe how big he's getting!!
