T H I R T Y

I remember thinking thirty was so old when I was younger. Yet here I am at thirty feeling like I'm still eighteen. Besides becoming a wife and a mom, I feel like not much has changed?? I still have the same personality, listen to all the same music, dress in the same type of clothes, and hang with the same group of friends. It makes me wonder how I'll feel when I'm actually old haha.

My 30th birthday was a gooood one. We managed to get away kid-free for a sibling date night and it was perfect. I'm hoping it's something that can happen more in the future as our kids get a little older *cough* easier. We ate a yummy dinner at Sol Agave, played pickleball at the park, then headed back to Britta's house for pictures, raspberry bundt cake and games. My kind of evening!

These people made me feel so special. I love my family!

Karlie stopped by with the sweetest gift basket. SHE'S TOO NICE.
I'm so lucky that I have my sister-in-law as a best friend!

Funny story about these flowers. I was out chatting with my neighbor Sierra one day and I mentioned to her that my birthday was coming up at the end of the month *me not realizing what month it was*. On August 29th she knocked on my door, yelled "Happy Birthday!!!" and handed me these. I felt so dumb telling her my birthday wasn't for another month hahaha. She was so sweet and told me we're celebrating early then! I lucked out with my neighbors.

We wrapped up the birthday festivities with a golden bachelor/september birthdays/girls night.

Love these people.

See ya twenties! Bring on the THIRTIES.

First Day of School

The school year is over THIS MONTH. I can't believe how fast that happened!! Emmett has loved kindergarten. Everyday I ask him how school was and his answer is almost always "super, duper good!" It didn't start out that way, though. I was so stressed dropping him off that first day and drove away in tears knowing that I couldn't be there to help him. He's a child that thrives off of familiarity and routine, so the first few days were a big adjustment. There was also a group of mean boys that I always had to keep my eye on when I dropped Emmett off for the day. They singled out Emmett a lot calling him small, stealing his hat, and telling him to stop coming by them. THANK GOODNESS that didn't last long. Watching those interactions from the car broke my heart every time. Jason and I told Emmett to ignore those kids and not give them the time of day. That's what he did and they eventually stopped. Since then he has found his people and made some really great friends who also share a love of godzilla haha. Emmett loves the library, PE, and art. He's learned to read and write so well. He's passed all of his testing with flying colors (even before the school year began haha). He is one smart boy and I am so dang proud of him. Bring on first grade!!!

- First Day of Preschool -

Brielle was sooo ready to start preschool! She told me for weeks before it started how excited she was to make new friends and wear her unicorn backpack. She's the cutest ever. She loves her teachers, snack time, and Thursday prize day. As the year has gone on she's gotten a little more timid and shy, but I'm hoping next year that won't be the case since she'll have Nora and Callum in her class. Yay for having cousins as neighbors!!! I'm so proud of my girl. She's rocked preschool!

These kids are growing up too fast :,)
