Let It Snow

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. A few weeks ago we got snow... in Alabama... and quite a bit of it! I feel like it has to be documented because according to everyone here this is not normal. Emmett absolutely loved it. He could have played in the snow for hours if we let him! I'm glad that he got to experience a little bit of that winter weather I'm so used to.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Fry Me A Turkey!

I had a doctor's appointment recently and my cervix was measuring 4 cm at 36.5 weeks! Our girl is going to be here SO SOON. I have the hospital bag, infant car seat, pack-n-play, and overnight bag for Emmett all set to go. Now... we wait! I've always had a feeling she was going to be a December baby. We're just crossing our fingers she doesn't decide to come on Christmas day, but with our luck, she probably will :,) I've been cleaning, organizing, and checking off as many boxes on my to-do list as possible before she gets here. After this post, I'll have one less empty box. Checkkkkk!

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Paull side. We were planning on going to Colorado for the longest time to be with my family, but I was advised by my doctor not to fly at 34 weeks pregnant. Frontier also decided that they are taking a break with their direct flights from Huntsville to Denver soooo our trip would have been about 3x more expensive than we we're planning on. UGH. I read somewhere that those flights will start back up in the Spring, so hopefully people will still come visit us. We're really bummed we weren't able to make it out to Colorado, but are so glad that we got a couple of days with Matt, Raquel, and their kiddos. Matt's in the military and is stationed alllll over the place, so we rarely get to see them. They currently live in Virginia, but will be moving to Peru soon for three years. I don't know how they do it.

It was so fun seeing these cousins together for the first time! They absolutely loved playing with each other. Emmett was all laughs and smiles with them! I'm sure he enjoyed the fact that they wanted to entertain him and not just take his toys ;)

This year we did a not-so-traditional fried turkey. That was a first for me! I didn't even know you could fry a whole turkey haha. The guys took over that task out back while the SIL's cooked and snacked and chatted inside.

Look at that thang! Mmm, mmm.

After we ate our bellies full, we all walked over to see the lot Ryan and Karlie will be building on. In about seven or eight months they'll live in the neighborhood across the street from us. Talk about convenient!! I'm so excited about it haha. Later that evening we did a little black friday shopping, then went over to Ryan and Karlie's for dessert and games. It was such a fun day!

The week prior to Thanksgiving we had a  f r i e n d s g i v i n g  celebration at the Hoggard's home. All six families contributed which made for the ultimate feast! I brought the cheese tray and did homemade rolls... for my second time ever haha. They got some good reviews, so I'll call it a success.

I'm thankful for family,
I'm thankful for friends,
& I'm thankful for fried turkey!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Oh Baby!

I am 34 weeks pregnant today and feelin' it. I want to believe that this little lady will arrive a few weeks early like her brother did, so it's possible that THIS. IS. BABY. MONTH. Ahh that's so crazy to think!! A couple of weeks ago Karlie Paull, Carly Hoggard, and Kendi Collins threw me the sweetest shower ever. I really wasn't expecting one considering this is my second baby... and I wasn't sure who would come since I only know a handful of people out here. {Those three are the ones I hang out with haha.} Karlie, however, knows everyone. I was amazed with the turnout! Thanks to all of those ladies who came, our baby girl's closet and diaper stash are stocked. We are so, so grateful.

^^ Kendi made this darling wood sign for the nursery. I'm in love! She also made the cutest holiday wood sign for the diaper raffle prize, helped with the decor, and ran the shower games.

Karlie {my sis-in-law} hosted the event, did the invitations, set up the cutest decorations, and fed the crowd. She went above and beyond!! It's been so fun living close to her.

Carly H. made these adorable floral wall wreaths for the nursery. I can't wait to hang them up! These girls are so crafty, I love it. Carly has been SO helpful throughout this pregnancy. She's been my go-to whenever I've had questions, she let me borrow all of her maternity clothes, and she's watched Emmett for me during my doctor's appointments. Oh, she also made the yummiest homemade cheesecakes I think I've ever had. Scroll for pictures.

The food was delicious, the decor was perfect, the turnout was amazing. Even though I didn't know the names of nearly half of the ladies in attendance, I felt like I was surrounded by friends. Everyone was incredibly generous and I felt so loved. We even had multiple ward members bring us gifts to church or drop them by our house. SO SWEET OF THEM.

I wasn't kidding when I said this girl is stocked with diapers. The diaper raffle was such a smart and fun idea! I'm actually really excited to try a variety of brands so I can see which one I like best. Emmett was a Pampers baby up until about eight months because that's all we ever tried!

I'm obsessed with tiny baby girl clothes!! She's not even here yet and her wardrobe is already better than mine haha. I bought maybe three of those outfits... the rest were gifted. All I have to say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We are so ready for you, girl!
