I had a doctor's appointment recently and my cervix was measuring 4 cm at 36.5 weeks! Our girl is going to be here SO SOON. I have the hospital bag, infant car seat, pack-n-play, and overnight bag for Emmett all set to go. Now... we wait! I've always had a feeling she was going to be a December baby. We're just crossing our fingers she doesn't decide to come on Christmas day, but with our luck, she probably will :,) I've been cleaning, organizing, and checking off as many boxes on my to-do list as possible before she gets here. After this post, I'll have one less empty box. Checkkkkk!
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Paull side. We were planning on going to Colorado for the longest time to be with my family, but I was advised by my doctor not to fly at 34 weeks pregnant. Frontier also decided that they are taking a break with their direct flights from Huntsville to Denver soooo our trip would have been about 3x more expensive than we we're planning on. UGH. I read somewhere that those flights will start back up in the Spring, so hopefully people will still come visit us. We're really bummed we weren't able to make it out to Colorado, but are so glad that we got a couple of days with Matt, Raquel, and their kiddos. Matt's in the military and is stationed alllll over the place, so we rarely get to see them. They currently live in Virginia, but will be moving to Peru soon for three years. I don't know how they do it.
It was so fun seeing these cousins together for the first time! They absolutely loved playing with each other. Emmett was all laughs and smiles with them! I'm sure he enjoyed the fact that they wanted to entertain him and not just take his toys ;)
This year we did a not-so-traditional fried turkey. That was a first for me! I didn't even know you could fry a whole turkey haha. The guys took over that task out back while the SIL's cooked and snacked and chatted inside.
Look at that thang! Mmm, mmm.
After we ate our bellies full, we all walked over to see the lot Ryan and Karlie will be building on. In about seven or eight months they'll live in the neighborhood across the street from us. Talk about convenient!! I'm so excited about it haha. Later that evening we did a little black friday shopping, then went over to Ryan and Karlie's for dessert and games. It was such a fun day!
The week prior to Thanksgiving we had a f r i e n d s g i v i n g celebration at the Hoggard's home. All six families contributed which made for the ultimate feast! I brought the cheese tray and did homemade rolls... for my second time ever haha. They got some good reviews, so I'll call it a success.
I'm thankful for family,
I'm thankful for friends,
& I'm thankful for fried turkey!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Awesome job on the rolls! It took me FOREVER to master rolls, so I'm super impressed! If you couldn't be with us on Thanksgiving, I'm glad you had family and friends to spend it with. Love you guys!
