A Merry Little Christmas

MAN. It is a lot harder to find time to hop on here with a toddler and a newborn in the house. I basically have to choose between eating, cleaning, showering, laundry, blogging, or catching up on some much needed sleep in the very little free time I get. And that's even with Jason being home on his crazy long paternity leave! Cleaning is my priority most days. But today I'm choosing to ignore the dirty dishes, couch crumbs, and baby spit-up stains. They'll all be back by tonight anyways, so let's try to knock out a post.

* nursing break *

I want to keep things chronological, so before I introduce you to our cute new family member, I'm going to share Christmas! This year was my favorite yet and I love knowing that it's just going to keep getting better. Emmett's still too little to understand the concept of Santa, but he's at an age where presents, toys, and boxes bring him so much joy lol. He was the happiest boy all morning and my mama heart was loving every minute of it. I'm trying my best to soak up this stage of life because it's my faaaavorite. I don't ever want to forget these sweet moments.

When Emmett turned the corner of the stairs the first thing he said was, "Ball?" I could tell he was a little confused haha. He stood there for a second looking at all of the presents and then ran right on over to his new slide from gigi and grandpa. He looooves that thing. Grandparent win!

"Mommy open?" Anything for you buddy.

His smile and excitement are  E V E R Y T H I N G.

^^ No better view in the world.

We assembled toys, enjoyed our new things, and relaxed the day away. Before the sun went down we headed out back to get a family photo. We've never been super great at getting pictures together as a family. It's kind of difficult when you have a toddler that can't sit still, a husband who is a one-and-done picture taking kind of guy, and a wife who is always the one behind the camera. Our self-timer attempt didn't exactly work out like I had hoped haha.

Emmettless it is. As I'm sure you can tell, my belly was about ready to pop. On December 20th I had a false alarm hospital visit, so we were just hoping and praying that our girl wasn't going to make her appearance Christmas day. Thankfully she held off a little longer, but still in time for that nice 2019 tax credit :,) That's my girl.

Up next.. Brielle
