Before I jump into this post I have a very important life update to share! As of yesterday, WE ARE MOVING BACK TO UTAH. Ahhh, it all happened soooo fast. Three days ago we had zero intentions of moving anytime soon. A recruiter for Northrop Grumman reached out to Jason a week or so ago on LinkedIn. Jason decided he'd go through with an interview, but we truly thought nothing would come of it. The interview was on Tuesday, he got a verbal offer an hour later, and a formal written offer (that was more than he asked + 30K in relocation!!!) the very next day. His start date is August 30th. I still cannot believe it! When he told me the news I instantly started crying happy/sad tears. I've never felt two emotions so strongly at once. It's very, very bittersweet because we LOVE it here. Our kids love it here. We love our house, our friends, our neighbors, our spontaneous beach trips, framily holidays, bunco / bachelor / game nights, and we love that we have a brand new baby cousin right next door. I really don't want to leave the life we have here. I cry every time I think about it. But at the same time I'm so so so excited to be back with the rest of my Utah family!!! This is also an amazing opportunity that propels Jason years forward in his career than if we were to stay. UGH. Why can't all of our friends here just move with us?? That would be ideal.
On top of the sudden, huge life change and all the stressful things that come along with that, we've also been down a car for a few weeks due to engine problems with our Tucson. Long story short, the cost of replacing the engine was about what the car was worth. We had an extended warranty on the car but it took a lot of convincing from multiple people for the warranty department to accept the coverage. Thankfully they did end up covering the cost, so today we traded in our 2017 Hyundai Tucson and 2013 Hyundai Elantra (which a mouse lived in at some point and chewed through the back seatbelts lol) for a brand new 2022 Hyundai Tucson. I'M IN LOVE. It actually worked out perfectly because now we'll have one less car to haul back to Utah with us. Now we just need to list, clean, show, sell, pack, load, move, and find a place to live in Utah's crazy housing market in the next two months. Oh and throw in two crazy toddlers, a nose surgery, doctor check-ups, two friend babies being born, and a possible visitor coming to stay with us. No biggie :,)
Phew, that's quite the update. But now ya know and I'll remember! Hopefully this will give me motivation to catch up on my blog before life gets way too busy. Anyways, back to what this post is really about. On May 8th we threw a baby shower for my sweet sister-in-law, Karlie. By we I mean Mel, Kendi, Carly, and I. Mel hosted the event and made the yummiest chicken salad croissants, Kendi cut out all the cute wood toppers, Carly made her famous cheesecake and got decorations together, I did invitations, a fruit and veggie tray, and made my biggest balloon arch yet. I have Carly and Tim to thank for blowing up all the balloons, that's the hard part! Bless their lungs haha.
