Under The Sea

Wow I am so. far. behind. Emmett turns five in a few short months and this post is all about his fourth birthday haha. To be completely honest, I am losing motivation to continue this blog and I feel like people have lost interest in reading them! While I LOVE having all of these memories documented in one place, I'm just not sure I can justify how long it takes me to keep it up. Mama needs a break too! With that being said, I am hoping to blog for the occasional important life updates (liiiike a new baby boy joining the family in June!!!) and not feel the pressure of documenting every holiday or gathering or trip. It's overwhelming and I just need to accept that I will always be behind unless I give myself a little grace. And who knows, one day blogger could completely disappear and all this will be for nothing haha. I might need to look into documenting my family in a quicker, more physical way. But while I have this short stint of motivation, I want to knock out the posts that have been sitting in my drafts for way too long.

Emmett turned four on March 2nd. At the time, he was OBSESSED with sea creatures. We had aquarium passes last year and he asked to go nearly everyday haha. The obsession has since died down, but I obviously couldn't pass up the opportunity to throw him an 'under the sea' themed birthday party.

I still can't get over this cake my mom made for him! She's aaamazing.

Alright, time for a party photo dump.

I can't remember what day we had his party, but on Emmett's actual birthday we wanted to spoil him a little bit. We had his favorite chocolate donuts for breakfast and played at the park for hours. That evening Jason and I took Emmett out for a special birthday date at the trampoline park while grandma watched Brielle. It was honestly so fun and Emmett was in heaven all day.

Emmett enjoying some of his birthday gifts.

I am so obsessed with this boy! I can't believe he is almost FIVE.
Here are a few things I want to remember about four year old Emmett.

He hums when he concentrates & has done that since he was a baby.
He loves dinosaurs, godzilla, bugs, and sea creatures.
He is still the pickiest eater ever.
He is smart and has such a good memory.
He loves to draw and is super good at it.
He doesn't care for sports.
He is a huuuge snuggler.
He has the biggest imagination.
He started preschool and is rocking it.
He loves his family deeply.
He's the BEST.

Emmett James, we are so lucky you are ours!

  1. TODAY!! The day I'm finally reading all your posts! Happy 5th Birthday, Emmett bubby! (Since it's actually past midnight at the current moment, it was technically yesterday, but I haven't gone to bed yet, so I'm counting it haha!) ♥
