T H I R T Y

I remember thinking thirty was so old when I was younger. Yet here I am at thirty feeling like I'm still eighteen. Besides becoming a wife and a mom, I feel like not much has changed?? I still have the same personality, listen to all the same music, dress in the same type of clothes, and hang with the same group of friends. It makes me wonder how I'll feel when I'm actually old haha.

My 30th birthday was a gooood one. We managed to get away kid-free for a sibling date night and it was perfect. I'm hoping it's something that can happen more in the future as our kids get a little older *cough* easier. We ate a yummy dinner at Sol Agave, played pickleball at the park, then headed back to Britta's house for pictures, raspberry bundt cake and games. My kind of evening!

These people made me feel so special. I love my family!

Karlie stopped by with the sweetest gift basket. SHE'S TOO NICE.
I'm so lucky that I have my sister-in-law as a best friend!

Funny story about these flowers. I was out chatting with my neighbor Sierra one day and I mentioned to her that my birthday was coming up at the end of the month *me not realizing what month it was*. On August 29th she knocked on my door, yelled "Happy Birthday!!!" and handed me these. I felt so dumb telling her my birthday wasn't for another month hahaha. She was so sweet and told me we're celebrating early then! I lucked out with my neighbors.

We wrapped up the birthday festivities with a golden bachelor/september birthdays/girls night.

Love these people.

See ya twenties! Bring on the THIRTIES.

First Day of School

The school year is over THIS MONTH. I can't believe how fast that happened!! Emmett has loved kindergarten. Everyday I ask him how school was and his answer is almost always "super, duper good!" It didn't start out that way, though. I was so stressed dropping him off that first day and drove away in tears knowing that I couldn't be there to help him. He's a child that thrives off of familiarity and routine, so the first few days were a big adjustment. There was also a group of mean boys that I always had to keep my eye on when I dropped Emmett off for the day. They singled out Emmett a lot calling him small, stealing his hat, and telling him to stop coming by them. THANK GOODNESS that didn't last long. Watching those interactions from the car broke my heart every time. Jason and I told Emmett to ignore those kids and not give them the time of day. That's what he did and they eventually stopped. Since then he has found his people and made some really great friends who also share a love of godzilla haha. Emmett loves the library, PE, and art. He's learned to read and write so well. He's passed all of his testing with flying colors (even before the school year began haha). He is one smart boy and I am so dang proud of him. Bring on first grade!!!

- First Day of Kindergarten -

- First Day of Preschool -

Brielle was sooo ready to start preschool! She told me for weeks before it started how excited she was to make new friends and wear her unicorn backpack. She's the cutest ever. She loves her teachers, snack time, and Thursday prize day. As the year has gone on she's gotten a little more timid and shy, but I'm hoping next year that won't be the case since she'll have Nora and Callum in her class. Yay for having cousins as neighbors!!! I'm so proud of my girl. She's rocked preschool!

These kids are growing up too fast :,)

Summer '23

This summer was hot, fun, busy and filled with lots of family. Looking back I'm actually shocked at how much we managed to do with a newborn in tow haha. Here are some of the highlights.

Paddle boarding at Tibble Fork Reservoir.

Lots of splash pad days and shaved ice.

Watching Austin's band perform at Riverton City Park.
All the kids were in heaven dancing around to the music.

Feeding ducks with Gigi & cousins.

Celebrating the Fourth of July.

Going to the aquarium with the Paull fam.

Emmett had cavities filled and did AWESOME.

Picnics & paddle boarding at Herriman Reservoir. I got myself a paddle board for christmas and I was determined to use it haha. Happy to report it was worth the purchase!

Dean & Hud
It's so fun that these cousins are only two days apart!

Road tripping to Zion for a Paull family trip.

Hiking, hiking, and more hiking.

Hudson was the best little hiking buddy and slept majority of the time.

Lots of newborn snuggling.

The boys swam while the girls held babies and chatted.

More hiking. Brielle was NOT in the mood for it this day haha.

Driving around Zion National Park.

Playing games and star gazing while the kids were in bed.

Hiking Bryce Canyon. We did this hike last year and decided to do it again since it was everyone's favorite! Truly the most beautiful hike I've ever done. Not easy with little kids, but worth it!!

Thankful for uncles that helped Emmett along the way.

I am SO impressed with how well Hudson did this entire trip.
He saw and experienced so much at not even two months old!

Love this crew.

Evening swims with the fam.

Trips are good for the soul. So many fun memories were made!

We were welcomed home to this..........

Broken air conditioning in the dead of summer. We lived with that for a few days. At times the house got above 90 degrees! It was unlivable. We did the best we could to be out during the day which wasn't easy with two kids and a baby. Our house has one ceiling fan in the living room so we all slept out there for a few nights. If I could go back I would have handled the situation differently. But instead.... we hung out and nursed in the car when we needed the relief haha. I will never take air conditioning for granted!!!

And that's a wrap on our long, hot summer!
