My Little Girl

*Queue Tim McGraw*  It's about to get a little more pink and a lot more busy around here! A sweet baby girl will be joining our family this January and we. can't. wait.

Emmett is going to be the best big bro.

Now to back it up a bit.

I got a positive pregnancy test on May 9th. It was quite the surprise! To be honest, those two little lines overwhelmed me so much in that moment. I remember the week leading up to this had been such a tough one. Emmett was fussy and sick and not sleeping well. I was nauseous and emotional and sleep deprived. We were still in Colorado at the time and Jason was hundreds of miles away in Alabama. I hated that my husband couldn't be there. He got an emotional phone call from me right after taking the test. I was sooooo stressed thinking about our move in a couple weeks, delays on our house, finding an apartment, the fact that I had no doctor, and I was concerned with the egg placement due to an ectopic history. BUT, long story short, everything worked out. We feel so lucky and extremely blessed. I cannot wait to snuggle and love on this girl!

I told my mom right away because I needed someone who was there. I didn't want to feel like I was dealing with the added stress and hormones alone. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy! Just overwhelmed. We announced the news to the rest of the family a couple of weeks after moving to Alabama with these pictures.

We joked that this is how Emmett really feels about being a little, big bro. But in reality, he was just mad mom wouldn't let him crinkle and chew on the ultrasound haha.

On July 20th we found out our babe was a little girl. Both Jason and I were hoping slightly more for a girl, but neither of us wanted to say it out loud. We were so thrilled and got happy tears when we heard the ultrasound tech say "It's a girl!" We are already pretty set on her name. It almost feels like we've known she was going to be part of our family all along.

That tiny profile! I'm so obsessed.

Here are some pics of the bump {ft. Emmett and stretchmarks}.

He loves giving my belly kisses. It's so sweet.

18 weeks

22 weeks

I am currently 26 weeks - just about done with my second trimester. This pregnancy has absolutely flown by! My cravings have been cheese sandwiches, pb&j's, breakfast burritos, chocolate chip pancakes, cholula hot sauce, McDonald's cheeseburgers, and basically anything from Taco Bell. So healthy! My first trimester symptoms included weird dreams, early spotting, peeing A LOT, easily triggered gag reflex, nausea, and so. much. dry. heaving. The second trimester has definitely been more smooth sailing, but I did struggle with night time anxiety, restlessness, and acid reflux at the beginning. I had a hunch we were having a girl because with my two previous pregnancies there was a very distinct metallic taste/smell I would get regularly, but that didn't happen this time around. The bump made an obvious appearance around ten weeks. That's also about the time I started feeling the baby move when I laid down. So early, I know! I'm not looking forward to the sharp kicks to the ribs, the constant back pain, the inevitable stretch marks, and the painful contractions that I'll get in the third trimester, but honestly, I'd go through anything for this girl.

We are so, so excited to meet you, B!
