Bumpin'

A little pregnancy documentation. We decided we'd start trying for baby #3 in August. I suspected I was pregnant mid September even though I hadn't really had symptoms yet. I took a dollar store pregnancy test and the faintest line ever showed up. I got emotional and told Jason I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant, although he didn't believe it at the time because the line was sooo faint. I waited a week or two before taking another test and this time that line was immediate and obvious. I set it on his desk and basically said told ya so haha. Helllllo... fertile myrtle over here!

Finding out baby's gender! We took Emmett and Brielle with us so they could see the baby on the ultrasound. We told the tech not to say the gender out loud so we could do a reveal for the kids later.

IT'S A BOY!

Gender reveal with the fam! My mom made these cookies for everyone to make their guess.

Emmett was SO HAPPY. As soon as he saw the confetti he yelled, "It's a boy!!!!!!" He wanted a baby brother so bad. I honestly think there would have been tears had the confetti been pink.

Brielle was pretty stoked too. She is READY to be a big sis!

The best big brother.

My mom and sisters threw me the sweetest baby sprinkle. We went to Goodwood Barbeque in Draper and had the best time. Baby boy got spoiled! I'm so lucky to have a lot of family and friends around to celebrate with. I left feeling so loved, excited, and ready to welcome our boy to the world!

33 Weeks

34 Weeks

^^ The humidifier in the background was working overtime my last trimester. I had the worst cough that would not ease up and I basically lived off of cough drops. It got so bad that sometimes I'd have coughing fits that would have me on my hands and knees throwing up. It was definitely my worst pregnancy symptom.

37 Weeks

The last few weeks leading up to baby boy's arrival were stressful to say the least. Jason started a new job. We were in between insurances which changed the hospital I thought I'd be delivering at. We bought a new car to fit our growing fam but had to wait for it to ship in. I was dilated and contracting everyday from basically 35 weeks on, so I had to assume that baby boy could come at literally any moment. It was just a lot of unknowns for this anxious need-to-know-the-plan mom! Thankfully Jason's new boss was super understanding and we got our car just in time for baby.

At my 37 week checkup I was 4 cm dilated and 70% effaced. It didn't surprise me since I've dilated early with my other pregnancies as well, but my doctor really didn't think I was going to make it another week. Of course Memorial Day was coming up so he was going to be out of town the upcoming weekend. He told me he'd be in office for the next few days and to call if my contractions started picking up so he could check my progress. A few days later my contractions were 4-8 minutes apart for about two hours, but not painful at all. They felt the same as all the other contractions I'd been having for weeks. I called anyways and the nurse told me to come in. We dropped the kids off at my parents house - suitcase, potty seat, snacks and all just in case we'd be sent to the hospital. We really didn't think we would be because my contractions slowed waaaay down as soon as we got in the car and had completely stopped by the time we got to the office. As the doctor was checking my cervix he asked me and Jason what we thought I was measuring at. "I don't know, maybe a 5?"  He smiled at us and said, "You're between 6-7 cm dilated. I'm sending you over to the hospital right now. You're having a baby today!" We were both SO surprised. I've never been THAT dilated prior to being in the hospital and I was only 37.5 weeks! In zero pain! Having no current contractions! My labors are so weird haha. We drove to the hospital laughing about how it didn't feel real. I called my mom to let her know we wouldn't be coming back to get the kids and I marco'd my friends the news. The lady helping us check-in was shocked that I was not bent over in pain at that point. I'm almost positive we would not have made it to the hospital had I waited for painful, consistent contractions. Especially since the hospital I ended up delivering at was more than 30 minutes away.

IT'S BABY TIME.
