Emmett handled his first month of life like a champ. We learned that he loves baths, his car seat, binkies, and staring at the ceiling fan. He communicates by grunting and has a very serious, mature demeanor. He has the neck strength of a two month old according to his pediatrician and loves to observe everything around him. He is not a good sleeper! He wakes up every two hours at night and only takes short naps after feedings during the day {his mama had a hard time with this}. A swaddle can't contain him for long because he loves being able to move and stretch his limbs. He's nursed like a pro since day one and he's growing like a weed because of it. We wish we could keep him this tiny forever!

Chubby cheeks and chunky thighs coming in hot! Emmett is starting to sleep better during the night, whoop whoop! His longest sleep stretch is 5 1/2 hours. He's not a frequent napper, but he does occasionally have super sleepy days. He gets easily bored when he's not being held, so most days are spent snuggling on the couch watching Parenthood or Gilmore Girls with mama lol. He's got a good set of lungs, but will stop crying 99% of the time if we 'waaaaaaaah' at him. Emmett smiles and laughs in his sleep, but very rarely does when he's awake. Such a serious little man! He enjoys getting his diaper changed and he will choose dad's arms over his stroller any day. Emmett loves listening to his mama's voice, so the two of us started reading the Book of Mormon together. His favorite songs are currently 'Wheels on the Bus' and 'Rock-a-bye Baby'. We are so in love with our boy!
