1 Year

My baby is ONE. I truly cannot believe that! Emmett is his own little person and it's so fun being able to watch him grow. He is walking allll over the place and has the bumps and bruises to show for it! He's tough though and doesn't stay sad for more than a minute or two after getting hurt. Emmett continues to be so so so picky, just like his daddy. The pediatrician agrees that it's likely a genetic trait. He is picking up on what 'no' means and started shaking his head from side to side {usually when I'm trying to feed him something ugh}. He loves being chased around the living room and knows exactly what "I'm gonna get you!" means. Emmett still  l o v e s  to nurse, which is making it harder for me to want to wean him. We both love that snuggle time every night and morning. He is super ticklish behind his neck and can't help but smile when a toy car is rolled over the top of his head. He knows when he's not supposed to do something, like climb the stairs alone or eat the dogs food, but that does not stop him when he finds an unsupervised opportunity! Our boy loves music and can't resist the piano if it's being played. He bounces, taps his fingers, or shakes his head with a smile when he's really feelin' a song. He can't get enough of the peek-a-boo youtube videos lol. Emmett definitely plays better when there are other little people around, but he can sometimes be a bit of a bully. We'll work on that. Some of his favorite things are story time at the library, playing tug-a-war with the dogs, crawling through tunnels, and hiding behind curtains. He's finally shown interest in reading {looking at} books and likes turning and pointing at the pages. He also started making cheesy smiles while squeezing his eyes shut and that face kills me every. single. time. Emmett you are sweet, curious, funny, energetic, squirmy, affectionate, dramatic, snuggly, handsome, so perfect, and forever loved. I hope you never forget that.
